Trenton Live

Over the past couple of months I have been spending time in several Philly-area newsrooms, including Norristown, Pottstown, West Chester, a couple of weeks back in Lansdale, and currently I am in Trenton.

Each of these newsrooms has its own personality, partially a reflection of the editor and the staff and partially a reflection of the community where it is located.

The Trentonian, a feisty inner-city tabloid with a reputation for hard news, a dogged pursuit of political figures, and a page-six girl every day, is experimenting with a 24-hour web TV service, run by managing editor Joey Kulkin. It airs live and recorded shows that showcase the issues and personalities in this two-paper town. Check out staff writer L.A. Parker's show as he takes on everything from race relations to a planned Saint Patrick's Day parade - and enjoy the guitarist who plays right in the middle of the newsroom between guests.
