American beauties

They're big, heavy, expensive, and not very fuel efficient. But for those who love their classic cars, there is no other way to get around. And every weekend from spring to fall, you can find these proud owners showing off their machines in shows large and small, each with it's own personality.

The Foulkeways community in Lower Gwynedd hosted a small show Saturday. Small, but high in quality with a terrific selection showcasing America's golden age of manufacturing from the 1930's to the early 1960's. When I cover car shows for the newspaper, I generally photograph people sitting in, looking at or reflected in the chrome of the cars on display. But almost compulsively I also take many extra photos of just the cars - details of shapes, reflections, curves, lines, colors.
